In 1939, the post office mailed cards to every resident on Greendale Drive announcing the street would be renamed Galena(because there were approximately 16 Greendales throughout the city and county).  The resident not caring for the name, selected a second choice by looking at a US map where someone noticed Greenhaven, Michigan. Greenhaven was the unanimous choice and a petition was drafted and mailed to Clayton to complete the change.
